From this morning's sermon...
Faith is defined by God's holiness, and the decision to be more like him; Faith is not decided merely by "following rules."
God doesn't judge us by our past (contrary to popular belief), rather he judges us by our unimaginable potential for the future.
Without understanding why you follow rules and commandments, your faith won't get you anywhere, except falling exactly back to where you said you wouldn't go--we need his help.
Everything that's true and that's righteous is merely a reflection of God's character.

So today was a semi-productive day, lol. My voice lesson went well (surprisingly)...I sang my aria from Opera Theatre for her finally. Technique-wise, it sounds alot better, which is always a good thing. I still can't believe Micah and I are playing a Russian Prince (we're double-casted and no,that's not a typo, I said Prince)..hahaha. Which means, a) we have a crazy accent b) we get to wear a tuxedo complete with coattails, while all the other girls are in tight, uncomfortable dresses, and (the best part), c) we'll most likely be wearing a head piece which makes you look....bald. HAHAHA...so if you're in the USF area, and think it'd be amusing to see one of us cross-dress, by all means come check it out, lol. There's defintely more to the Opera than that, it's a crazy ccomedy, so it'll be good. Anyway, hopefully this weekend I can FINALLY see my birthday pics...I mean, I already saw them on the digital camera, but haven't had any hard copies yet--that's kinda exciting. Merely because you just can't beat JP & Erik singing an NSYNC song in front of a packed restaurant. :) Good times...I think tonight I'll be starting on my recital credit early--going to a Cello Recital..not sure what to think of it yet, lol. I'll let ya know...

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.
PS....that's a direct quote from the Bible: Song of Songs 8:6-7 <3>

Holy Fazoli's. It's been a looong time since that last entry. Pretty crazy! So much has has happened! Good and bad...the good definitely outweighing any tough times. Well I was most definitely right when I predicted it would be a different semester for me. Not in the way I thought, lol. I complicated my life in ways that I never should have. Let's just say, when you become dependent on people you think care about you, or people you think you want to be with, your whole outlook can take a turn for the worse. And when you are dependent on certain situations that have happened, that you think will somehow change your future, or you think things "will" happen, it can get just plain ugly. I was emotionally drained by the end of this past semester. I never wanted to be social, I found myself angry/sad for no good reason..it even effected my schoolwork, and my ability to progress with my voice. The line had to be drawn somewhere! And I'm glad I found strength in my faith in the Lord as well as my family (thank goodness for my Mom and Aunt). I finally made the right decision about my relationships with people--that it isn't the end of the world if things don't go the way I plan! That's a big realization for me, I'm a control freak, lol. And it's very exciting to realize bigger and better things are out there. You have to understand: this was a loooong, very difficult process.
Anyway!! But on a better note, I am no longer taking a 5 hour math course! lol--huge relief...and Opera Workshop was one of the highlights of the year. So much work, but so worth it: I got a role in the Spring Opera! Before you know it, I'll have the lead.
Well, that's about it for now...it's been a hectic weekend, even though I'm still in Tampa...Mom was in a car accident (rear-ended), and now she's not feelin so hot, so wish her luck and say a prayer that the car won't end up totaled: that's supposed to become my car in a very short while!!
Later ;)
